1.Understand the advantages of owning a laser printer rather than an inkjet printer. Here are some of the advantages:
-A laser printer does not require ink. Laser printers use toner, which is made up of plastic and iron particles that melt to the paper when heated rollers called a fuser unit are used. Nothing will “dry up” if there is no ink. With a laser printer, you can go on vacation knowing that you will return to a functional printer. You won’t need to buy new cartridges when you return because they won’t have dried up during your vacation.
-Laser printers are significantly less expensive to run. It is common knowledge that sellers give away inkjet printers knowing that they will make a lot of money on the ink. Although laser printers are more expensive initially, the cost per page can be as low as one-tenth of that of inkjet printers.
-Waterproof printing is available with laser printers. Have you ever had ink smear when it got wet? This does not occur with a laser printer because the plastic is melted to the sheet and is completely water-proof.
-The print quality has improved. You can “feel” and see the distinction. For properly printed letters, laser printers are the industry standard. Have you ever noticed how nice the letter from your doctor’s or lawyer’s office is? It was produced using a laser printer. There is a noticeable difference.
2. Be aware that the consumables (toner) for the laser printer last a long, long time.
A single toner cartridge can typically print several thousand sheets. The larger the printer model, the more pages you can print per cartridge and the cheaper the cost per page. Laser printers typically cost roughly 3 cents per page.
3. Be price savvy.
Laser printers may provide excellent colour at a low cost. Color laser printers are commonly available to the general public for as little as $200 USD. Expect a larger printer than an inkjet, but the advantages are well worth it.
4. Expect reliability.
Laser printers are significantly more dependable. Many laser printers can print 30,000 pages per month or more! Laser printers are well-known for their long service life. Some users have reported Laserjets that are still operational after 15 years of everyday use.
5. Expect minor repairs.
Most fixes are as simple as replacing parts found in a typical “maintenance kit.”
