Check the Scanner
Check that the scanner is connected to a working power supply before using it. If you’ve misplaced your original documentation, a digital duplicate is usually available on the manufacturer’s website. Testing the scanner on another computer can help determine whether there is a problem with the connection or settings.
Check the Connection
Check the cable between your scanner and your computer is firmly plugged in at both ends. Unplug any other devices, particularly scanning devices, that may be causing a conflict with the scanner. If you’re connecting the scanner to a USB hub, connect it to a port attached directly to the motherboard instead.
Check the Software
New drivers may be required for your scanner to function correctly with your computer. Installing new drivers ensures compatibility with other hardware and software on your system. If you’re having trouble scanning using a third-party program, it may be incompatible with the type of scanner you have installed.
Further Troubleshooting
Uninstall older scanners from under the Imaging devices heading to resolve this issue. Use the Device Manager utility from Control Panel to uninstall older scanners. For help with specific error messages, visit the support section of the manufacturer’s website.
