If you have multiple printers or sell an old one and buy a new one, Windows 7 sees all of them, including printers that are not connected to your computer. This is not a major issue, but it can be inconvenient to search through all printers to find the correct one if you need to print a page. Using the Devices and Printers feature, however, removing printers in Windows 7 is a simple task.

.Select “Devices and Printers” from the right pane of the “Start” menu. The Devices and Printers window is displayed.

.Scroll down to the Printers and Faxes section and find the printer you want to uninstall.

.Right-click the printer that you want to uninstall and choose “Remove device” from the popup menu.

.If you are not logged in as an administrator, enter your administrator password.

.When prompted, click “Yes” to confirm that you want to remove the printer. The printer is then uninstalled from Windows 7.

.Finish by closing the Devices and Printers window.
